FAQ

General:

Our official opening is Memorial Day Weekend and we are open seven days per week through Labor Day. Check our booking calendar for our many opening dates outside of the official season.

We accept group reservations of twenty or more. We need reservations for groups of 50 or more. This helps us schedule our staff. If your group has fewer than twenty people, reservations are optional. You may click the "tickets" button for group or single reservations. Parties of any size can purchase tickets online in advance. It is recommended but not required.

It varies. Most of the river is ankle to knee-deep, but some sections will be over your head. In the deeper sections, the water tends to be much calmer and with fewer rapids.

Absolutely, dogs are always welcome to tube! Don't believe me? Check out our Pooch on the 'Hooch photo album. Our furry friends get their own tube and they cost the same as our human friends.

We have pavilions and picnic tables along the river. They're generally available on a first-come, first-served basis. On weekends and holidays through the summer, there is a picnicking and grilling fee that you will pay at the time of parking and the large pavilion is only available by reservation. Please read our picnicking rules and information here. We love that  our guests enjoy this beautiful area. Please respect it.

Yes. Restrooms, changing rooms, and showers are available to paying customers.

Yes. We have straps available to connect the tubes. These are included in the ticket price, and you can use as many as you need. For safety reasons, though, we don’t recommend floating down with more than three tubes connected. The more tubes that are connected the more likely you are to get stuck.

You can check in at either Headwaters or Chattahoochee Outpost. If doing the long ride, we recommend checking in at Headwaters. At Chattahoochee, you can check in upstairs or additionally, on weekends and holidays, at our outside check-in gazebo. Because ticket lines can be long inside Chattahoochee Outpost on these days, we recommend using the outdoor gazebo for a speedier experience. It’s the just to the right of the building, when facing it from the street. Dressing rooms and bathrooms can also be found outside close to the booth.

What to bring AND what NOT to bring on the River:

You can rent one of our lockers for $3 (only at the Chattahoochee Outpost). Or, if you want to lock your things in the car, we hold car keys for free with a photo ID. Do not take your keys in the river with you. Many who insist on taking their keys end their trip with a call to the locksmith.

No, but each tuber is allowed to take one 32 oz. plastic drink container.  No alcohol.

Yes, as long as it is US Coast Guard approved.

Unless it is waterproof, we don't recommend it. It will get wet. We have waterproof phone cases and analog waterproof cameras for sale in our store.

Safety Restrictions:

The minimum age is 2 years old for tubing. We don't have weight or height restrictions, but keep in mind that some places can be very shallow. Physical exertion may be required.

Most people don’t find tubing strenuous. If we haven't had enough rain, however, it can involve a bit of work. The lower the water level, the more work required. This may involve using your push stick more often, walking, or getting up to move your tube if you are stuck.

We are at the head of the Chattahoochee River. The water is clean and cool. We have no E.coli trouble in the river. Keep in mind that you are in the outdoors, there is wildlife and natural rapids.

Since we're on a calm and relatively shallow stretch of the Chattahoochee, non-swimmers go tubing with us often. The rapids aren't classed, and only a few swimming holes have water deeper than 5’. Anyone who can't swim should wear one of the life-jackets we provide, and all kids age 12 and under are required to take a life-jacket.

No guide or lifeguard accompanies you on the river.

Yes, every participant must have someone 18 or older sign for them. You can download and print a waiver to be signed by a parent or guardian.
